TEMPESTADE STORY

 

Tempestade was born on December 23rd, 2021, following the rescue of his mother, Ana Raio, earlier that same year.

From the beginning, his life was closely connected to her difficult condition during pregnancy. 

Because Ana Raio suffered from severe anemia while carrying him, Tempestade was born with health complications that required ongoing care and attention.

Before reaching one year of age, he developed anemia and required treatment. Over the years, he has undergone treatment for anemia multiple times, always receiving careful monitoring, veterinary support, and proper nutrition to help him recover and remain healthy.

Despite these early challenges, Tempestade was given something many rescued horses never experience — the opportunity to grow up protected, safe, and surrounded by care from the very beginning of his life. 

FROM FRAGILITY TO STRENGHT

Today, Tempestade is a healthy and energetic young horse who continues to grow stronger with each passing year.

The photos of Tempestade interacting with Daniela — his second mother — and Gabriel reflect the love, care, and human connection he has received while growing up at the sanctuary. 

Unlike many horses born into difficult situations, Tempestade has had the opportunity to grow surrounded by affection, patience, protection, and positive human interaction from an early age.

To ensure his wellbeing, regular blood tests are carried out annually to monitor his condition and prevent future complications related to anemia. 

Thanks to consistent care, proper nutrition, veterinary follow-up, and a peaceful environment, he has recovered very well and continues to thrive.

Tempestade represents hope — proof that early care, protection, compassion, and love can completely change an animal’s future.
